The beautiful family that they have made
A husband of over 50 years came to us with a blue sapphire that his wife inherited from her mother. For their anniversary, he wanted to put it in a pendant that represented the beautiful family that they have made.
The 4 diamond "crosses" on the sides of the sapphire represent their 4 children.

Memory even more personal...
A client came in with shell casings from the 21 gun salute at his Dad's funeral with the intention of making pendants for his two sisters and his wife, and rings for himself, his sons and nephews. We created a triple layer pendant for the ladies: the top circle from the casing, the middle an engravable disc and below, their personal birthstone.
The center disc was personalized with their initial and engraved on the back.
In the center of the casing, we set a created emerald, which was his father's birthstone.

Remember this ring?
Remember this ring? Our client had made Celtic knots out of inherited gold and had extras.
We duplicated the extras and were able to create a beautiful pendant that also can be used as a pin! The center emerald in the pin was a pendant that she had, we supplied more emeralds and incorporated the Celtic knots to make the final product.
This is just one way that we can reuse jewelry parts that one may not realize can have another life! ...

Creating this new memory
Here's a touching family story. A father wanted to create a special pendant for his daughter using her deceased mother's engagement ring, wedding band and his original wedding band; truly a family pendant.
The mother's original diamond was set in the center.
The center heart is the engagement ring, middle the lady's wedding band and the outer heart, the man's band.
I found this story even more special because it was the father's current spouse who suggested creating this new memory using the three rings for his daughter.

Perfect "past, present, and future" themed ring
A lovely couple came in with her original wedding set which had 4 princess cut diamonds in a cluster center setting and her diamond from her grandmother, who she was very close with. We created a beautiful new engagement ring for her using her grandmother's diamond as one of the side stones.
We matched it to make another side stone and a stunning oval center finished this perfect "past, present, and future" themed ring.

Romance is not only for the young
We tell stories about our grooms picking the perfect engagement ring, but romance is not only for the young. This "groom of 50 years" came to us looking for a pendant that signified their 50 years of memories together.
He chose a gold charm with a "50" on it, simple and elegant.
He then added a beautiful quality round diamond which of course had to be at least .50ct to symbolize the years they've been together.
A personal message was then engraved on the back to make it even more meaningful.

They found the perfect setting
Here is another great story of a groom designing the perfect ring for his bride-to-be, but this one with a "technological" twist. His search started with his mom in our store FaceTiming him with setting choices as he lives out of state.
They found the perfect setting which was designed with a classic bypass that had added pavé diamonds that tapered down the shank.
They had a pre-planned Syracuse visit to see family which quickly became a secret mission to choose the perfect diamond...and he chose one that absolutely took our breath away.

Not only in spirit
A treasured memory of this bride's mother was turned into pieces that are as sentimental as they are beautiful. She brought in strands of pearls that she wanted to turn into gifts for her attendants and her future mother in-law.

Truly a work of art
That same girl is now the lucky recipient of this beautiful engagement ring, with a center stone that is also inherited!
The bride-to-be wanted a combination of two rings we had: the halo and antique accents of one, and the cathedral shank of the other.

Made for each other
A three stone ring and a diamond band didn't quite fit together or looked like they were "made for each other".
We joined a three stone center with the wide three row channel ring she loved, similar to one in the case.
After approving the renderings, adding a few extra diamonds to complete the outer rows, and a Euro shank to decrease spinning, the ring was made and Viola! Isn't this Amazing!!

A wonderful transformation
This client came in with a bangle bracelet given to her by her husband that was made from their wedding bands with a chain closure, but it was too small and didn't fit her.
Jim added length to the bracelet by turning it into a convertible clasp and removing the chain. She then picked out a clasp that had 5 hearts symbolizing herself, her husband, and their 3 children. Added in the middle was a Ceylon blue sapphire for their 50th anniversary in September.

A change was needed
What a great combination of a birthday and anniversary that brought about the creation of new wedding bands for both and a revamping of her engagement ring. Our customers were getting ready to celebrate a special birthday marker and a highlighted anniversary date.

The Value of Sentiment!
Tie Tacks turned into loving memories - the Value of Sentiment!
A Mother and Daughter brought in two tie tacks from their recently deceased Husband and Father. One tie tack had a "swirl" like center insert.
The second one had a small square onyx. Neither wore gold or sterling silver so soldering was not an option. We made a pendent from the first tack, adding a garnet and emerald above the "swirl" with a rope edge around the original piece.
The second tack became a ring in sterling silver by removing the flat portion of the tack and "set" it into a split shank sterling silver band. Both hold cherished memories of someone so loved....

Anything is possible
Ever have a stone that was a cherished memory, but is broken or chipped? Our customer had an Opal ring from her parents and the Opal was broken on one edge of the stone.
She wanted to match a heart shaped ring with a pendant, so we found a heart shaped pendant setting to creatively set the Opal in.
Our goldsmith, Jim, set the Opal up against a curve in the heart, added five diamonds o one side and a sixth diamond at the base of the heart.
The five diamonds were for her family and the sixth diamond was for her Mom.

What a gift to receive, cherish and renew

Preserve Your Family History
Here is a great story about the creation of a 4 Generation ring. Our customer came in with an idea to use her great grandmother's, grandmother's, mother's and her own diamonds from an amethyst ring with 22 diamonds. The 2 largest diamonds were vertically set in the center of the ring, with 2 smaller diamonds on each side.
The diamonds from the amethyst ring were then set on the band of the ring and the matching wedding band.

Once upon a time
Once upon a time, there was a fair young man who wanted to propose to his adored young lady. The couple came in and she found the ring of her dreams...a rose gold, antique style setting a wish list was made up with this ring as her top choice.

A Heart Shaped Stone
A heart shaped stone is always intriguing to look at and is a wonderful gift. Our customer was gifted a heart shaped diamond from her mother and side stones from both her grandmother and grandfather.
Our customer wanted to re-set the diamonds in a two tone setting.
She picked out a setting from our case and with a bit of help from the manufacturer (who changed the wax mold of the setting!) we were able to adapt the ring to fit her larger stones and make the ring two tone.

Happy Anniversary
We had the privilege of working with a wonderful couple who were in search of the perfect ring to reset her original diamond. She had a definite idea of what she loved and one of her main goals was to use her own diamond in the center of a double cushion shaped halo.

A Special Request - A Transformation
Sometimes when someone has a special request concerning a cherished item a great new creation is the result. A husband gave his wife a beautiful gold cross. The wife didn't wear necklaces, so they decided to make it into a pin.

Meant for Each Other
This couple met and knew they were meant for each other. He picked out a gorgeous engagement ring at Diana's and she was extremely happy!

Sardonyx Ring thru the Years

Call Her Blessed
This story is about the love of a mother for her children and their incredible respect and recognition of that love. I had the privilege of working with one daughter, who was researching the gift for their Mom's birthday.

Here's a beautiful piece celebrating 50 years of marriage. This gentleman wanted to choose the perfect gift for his wife and wanted the numbers "143" incorporated somehow.
We were discussing a few options, when he stopped at a case and said "What about this?" pointing at this beauty.
We set 4 emeralds in place of the original pink sapphires making this very vintage styled piece, just a wee bit Irish also.

Topaz Chipped to Cherished
Here's an interesting story. A daughter brought in a loose, large yellow topaz with a chip extending the length of the stone and almost half the depth. ( It was HUGE!)
A stone cherished by her Mom, but never worn again after it chipped.
Her daughter was open to unusual design suggestions incorporating the birthstones of children and grandchildren.

The Tipperary Hill Traffic Light
This is one of my favorite pieces, just delivered. I couldn't wait to share this. Client wanted this memory from her home always with her. In 14K white gold with genuine emerald, yellow sapphire and ruby ( yes in that order), any Syracuse native will appreciate this work of art. This is picture perfect. Generations
This story celebrates generations of lovely ladies. A young woman was left her paternal grandmother's mother's ring with three stones; the grandmother's original diamond in the center and the birthstones of her two children, one this young woman's father and the other her aunt.
We created a double heart pendant with her aunt's birthstone, February, and a stunning filigree white gold pendant with the diamond and the remaining birthstone of her Dad, October.
Now this one piece is worn by two generations of ladies. Enjoy!

A 10th Anniversary RIng
This wonderful couple wanted to create a special ring to celebrate their tenth wedding anniversary. Her original ring had a princess center and side diamonds of different size.
With additional diamonds she had, we created this beautiful ring.
The smooth sides allowed for her original channel set wedding band to fit perfectly and the cushion halo frames her diamond.

Mother's Ring becomes one of a kind pendant

Here's a new remount pendant story. A client had a unique mother's ring with three marquise colored gemstones surrounded by diamonds. The marquise center stones were held by only two prongs each and loosened repeatedly. The small diamonds also loosened. The solution? This beautiful heart diamond pendant used all her stones and made this one of a kind mother's pendant for this lovely lady. The heart slides on an adjustable box chain allowing her to adjust to any length up to 22". I look forward to seeing this couple again but not to tighten her stones. Enjoy this new idea for celebrating MOM.

Anniversary Dream Ring

This is a story of the creation of an incredible "Happy Anniversary" ring. This is special because it illustrates what can be done with a client's vision of her perfect ring. She couldn't find it anywhere and when she came to us seemed a bit discouraged; willing to "settle". I wouldn't let that happen. We designed the ring she imagined. So exciting! The combination of yellow and white in a simple twist, frames the 6 original diamonds from her wedding band. And the matching band slips perfectly into the engagement ring. An awesome couple! Antique Styled Diamond Halo Ring

Grandmother's Rings Transformed

This is a gift of rings from grandmother to granddaughter which were transformed into a new pendant and ring. She will always have her grandmother with her. A simple style that will be in style for generations. She has both ring and pendant to remind her of her Grandmother. This story touched my heart. I know how our daughter feels about loosing my Mother so I can appreciate this young woman's love for her Grandmother. This is a great example of the value of sentiment. Family Halo Ring

Here's a different twist on the popular halo setting. This client had an oval solitaire engagement ring. Her idea was to add her children and grandchildren's stones around her center; almost forming a 'family circle' around her diamond. Luckily the halo had just the right amount of settings so each person had 2 stones. The halo was added to her existing ring and her center diamond reset.

Rose and White Gold Diamond Ring

I have been so excited to show you this final recreated piece. And, this lady is truly as lovely as her new ring. She brought in a ring, a pair of channel set diamond earrings and two diamond pendants. Her request was something on the wider side, but also delicate. Together with some "visual aids" we took the journey from a quick sketch and the final computer rendering to the gorgeous result. She simply imagined the possibilities. Alexandrite Big Girl Ring

Three Feisty Irish Ladies

Here is a story, told in a beautiful ring, worn by an incredibly lovely lady. Her own diamond with her Mother's and Grandmother's, her original wedding band and wrap created what we named the "Three feisty Irish ladies" ring. She said the center design, viewed from the side, made her feel like her Mom and Grandmother were "hugging" her; they are forever entwined. This wonderful lady now feels like I do with Mom's jewelry on me; like we can handle almost anything. God Bless this story and this lady. We had so much fun creating this!

Can diamonds chip?

Can diamonds chip? Yes. Diamonds grow in layers and are cut along grain lines so if hit just right, they can chip. But diamonds can be repaired by an expert diamond cutter. Take a look at the attached before and after pictures. But the best part is the story: This was a gift from mother in law to daughter in law and will be eventually passed on to her granddaughter.

Another Transformation Treasure Story

Here's another transformation treasure story. A lovely lady and her daughter came in to recreate her mother's ruby and diamond ring. An oval center filled with varied sizes of diamonds was set in white gold and was surrounded by two rows of small round rubies. The goal was to make a smaller ring for Mom and create something with the rubies for her daughter. We took the center white gold portion, surrounded it with a yellow gold trim and a support undercarriage. Adapting her original ring allowed the view from the side to be similar to the original ring style. The rubies were used to create a stunning pair of drop pierced earrings. Imagine the sentiment of both ladies wearing their mother and grandmother's stones.

Three Wedding Sets Become So Much More

There are so many stories that take on new life through jewelry that is passed on. This is one of my favorites. This lovely lady's original set along with her mother and mother-in-law's wedding sets transformed into new treasures for herself and her family. Raymond Dominick Palladino passed away at home on March 22, 2016 with his daughters by his side. Raymond was predeceased by his wife, Madalyn in 2014.
